About Nitin R. Mariwalla, MD, MPH, MS

In 2017, Dr. Mariwalla opened his private practice in the Long Island, New York region, served by his family of physicians for the last 40 years. He has a broad clinical interest in all aspects of the surgical and nonsurgical treatment of diseases involving the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.
After completing his undergraduate studies at Brown University, he obtained graduate degrees in genetic engineering and public health while maintaining an academic interest in the basic sciences. He attended medical school at Tulane University, and completed a spinal biomechanics research fellowship based on his work as a finalist for the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute grant at the Barrow Neurological Institute. He did his residency training at Emory University, where he stayed on to obtain two additional fellowships in open cerebrovascular neurosurgery and endovascular neurosurgery. He was also appointed as a member of the faculty, instructing future neurosurgeons.
